If you’re planning to get a freshwater tropical fish aquarium, then you should be aware that you can create an aquarium that is swirling with color and activity. The fresh water fish or tropical fish that are usually sold in pet stores have different patterns, colors, sizes, shapes, fin designs, preferred living conditions, and temperaments.
Before you start buying the fish, make sure that you conduct at least a simple research. This is necessary so that the find species can live peacefully in one aquarium. Identify the aggressive species as well as the peaceful one.
Feed your Plants with the Right Nutrients
Fertilizers hasten plants’ progress and help improve its appearance, color and growth. There are aquatic plant fertilizers mostly used for this purpose and are conveniently packed into pellets or in solid form. Some fertilizers can be combined with laterite clay but be mindful always to follow specific feeding instructions and give much attention on feeding intervals, quantity and the process how it is fed. These things when combined together will guarantee healthy plants within the aquarium system.
The middle dwellers include schooling fish, tetras, and rainbow fish. You can also get the Guppies, Platies, Swordtails, Mollies, and small Gouramis. The bottom dwellers’ mouths are down turned so that they can feed on the leftover foods found at the bottom and this can include the Loaches and Cory Cats.
The fish mentioned earlier are usually peaceful ones. You should never put an aggressive tropical fish together with the peaceful ones. The fish you get will also depend on the size of your tank. For instance, if your tank is around 10 gallons, you can get the Tetras, Platies, Gourramis, Bettas, and Danions. You can get the Hatchetfish, Mollies, Swordtails, angels, goldfish, cory cats, and rainbow fish for the 20 gal tanks. For larger tanks, you can get loaches and cichlids.
There are aggressive fish you can buy and even those that eat other fish. These types might be for the more experienced aquarium keeper. You also need to know about types that are particularly messy and difficult to maintain and others that are more predatory, therefore, are less easy to take care of.
Freshwater fish for your aquarium are available in a wide variety of species, colors, to choose from. However, most importantly is to make sure that you make the right choice in order to make your passion worth your time, money and effort.
